Our current position

This page records the site's current position rather than announcing an affiliate programme. It is not an invitation to buy whisky, bottles, casks or services through this website.

The site never sells, quotes prices or values bottles or casks. Its purpose is to explain whisky and the distilleries, brands, bottlers and owners behind it, for adults of legal drinking age.

What would be disclosed

If a commercial or affiliate relationship is introduced, a disclosure must appear above the Sources section of the affected page. A general statement here would not replace that notice: readers should be able to see the relationship on the page where it matters.

Any such disclosure must describe the actual arrangement, not suggest a relationship that does not exist. This page would also need to be updated so that its account of the site's relationships remains consistent with the notices on individual pages.

What commercial relationships cannot change

A commercial relationship must never determine which subjects receive coverage or how they are described. The same requirements for accuracy, evidence, responsible drinking and clear distinctions between fact and a company's own claims apply throughout the site.
